Today we’d like to introduce you to Keonta Ramsey.
Hi Keonta, so excited to have you on the platform. So before we get into questions about your work-life, maybe you can bring our readers up to speed on your story and how you got to where you are today?
My story began on a dirt road in Charleston, South Carolina, no more than 13 miles from the very same shores my ancestors began their story in America. As a child, I don’t believe I fully understood the weight of such a tragic yet triumphant parallel. Yet, as I reflect on how I got to where I am today, I can’t help but think that it was the faith, fortitude, and fervor of those that came before me that have forged my path.
Growing up, I was considered “gifted” and placed in Honors and Advanced Placement courses, while my mother, a single-parent of two raised me and my brother with unconditional love and strict boundaries. With the help of my grandparents, my mother molded me to be inquisitive and curious, with an opinionated yet respectful and resonating voice. It’s no surprise that I now use that very same voice, coupled with wordplay magic and an undeniable gift of gab to transform the thoughts of brilliant leaders, change agents, and business owners into captivating brand assets and visionary stories that connect with audiences worldwide.
As a Communications Strategist and the Owner of Eloquence Unlimited, I lead a team of talented writers and editors in curating compelling and articulate written copy that elevates the way clients communicate. I’m proud of where I came from and who I am because it has helped me to be a more transparent, relatable, and understanding business owner.
I’m sure you wouldn’t say it’s been obstacle-free, but so far would you say the journey has been a fairly smooth road?
It has most definitely not been a smooth road but I’m a firm believer that the obstacles and challenges that I encountered on my journey have made me into the resolute and determined person I am today. Overcoming my own mental blocks was one of the first challenges I had to overcome.
Everything we ever do start in our mind and without the capacity to think beyond my limitations and envision myself not only where I am today but well beyond that, I had to first believe that it was possible. I had to convince myself that despite not growing up in an affluent home, I could still create the type of life I desire. Another challenge that I had to overcome was imposter syndrome. I had to convince myself that my work ethic and drive not only made me eligible but also deserving of what I wanted personally and professionally.
Sometimes, I still can’t believe that I am a full-time entrepreneur with an exponentially growing list of clients and opportunities but it’s happening. Deciding that my hard work, sleepless nights, and the endless demands of entrepreneurship are the currency for such a rewarding life has been a struggle that I continue working on.

Networking and finding a mentor can have such a positive impact on one’s life and career. Any advice?
Everyone needs a mentor. I like to them of them as the perfect life hack for adults. When searching for a mentor you should research who in your industry you most aspire to model your personal and professional life after.
Don’t get me wrong, we all have our own unique journeys but having a real-life representation of your aspirations makes goals more achievable. Mentors are highly accomplished and most of all equally invested in your success. Their achievements, shortcomings, and lessons can be used as a blueprint for how to map out your path to greatness and the best part is they hold you accountable. I was connected with my mentor through what I know had to be divine intervention. She is a highly accomplished celebrity ghostwriter, who owns an acclaimed writing agency, all while operating an international mentoring program.
After my best friend convinced me of the importance of investing in myself, I signed up for the program, and my life, business, and mindset instantly shifted. Her willingness to share information and truly help me understand how to capitalize on my strengths empowered me in a way that I could have never imagined. Showing up, completing the program she outlined for me, and following through with executing the plans we created is what worked best for me.
